Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has said he needed ‘a change’ after his bright start to life in north London. The Swedish winger arrived at the club on a loan deal from Italian giants Juventus.
He has played ten games for Spurs since making the switch, scoring twice and providing four assists. His first goal was certainly a memorable one as he opened the scoring in the 3-2 victory against Manchester City, whilst he also found the net a week later against Leeds United.
His performances has certainly endeared himself to Tottenham supporters, with some hoping that he can follow his former Juventus teammate Rodrigo Bentancur in making a permanent move to north London. Kulusevski has admitted that the time was right to leave the Italian champions in the January window and has hailed his happiness playing for Spurs under Antonio Conte.

Talking in an interview with The Guardian, the Swedish wideman said: “It was hard [at Juventus]. You really have to be strong when things are not going the way you think they should be going and there are things you can’t control. It’s very frustrating when you love something and you cannot show it. I knew I needed a change.”
He continued: “It’s especially the coach and the staff who are helping me a lot, letting me make mistakes and be me, letting me play without pressure. When you are good in your mind, you usually play good football.
“About my best position, it’s hard to say because football is evolving and I am a guy who cannot stand still and I want to move in big, big spaces. The coach has helped me a lot because I really find my space right now. I like where I’m playing and every game I have had chances to score.”
One show of affection that Spurs fans have already given to Kulusevski is a chant to the tune of ABBA hit ‘Gimme, Gimme, Gimme’. It is fair to say that the 21-year-old is a huge fan of the song having already heard it in his brief time as a Tottenham player.
“They’re [Tottenham fans] quite good … I can’t say anything bad about them,” he said. “I love the chant. All my friends send it to me all the time and think it’s really funny.”
