Deion Sanders Has Some Advice for Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson has been more active than usual on Twitter in the past few days. From announcing that he requested a trade nearly a month ago to his latest tweet slamming the narrative that he sat at the end of last season because of his contract and not because of his injury.

New Colorado coach and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders took to Twitter himself to offer some advice to Jackson. Evidently, he’s not a fan of the star quarterback defending himself online.

“Stop explaining Yourself to fools and allow fools to be fools,” he said on Twitter. “A brother trying that’s strong, believes in himself and willing to stand for what he believes will always be misunderstood & judged by fools of all ethnicities. Love ya my brother and ‘I Believe in You’!”

The quarterback missed the last five games of the season with a PCL injury after it was initially reported that he’d only miss two to three weeks. Because Jackson is up for a contract extension this offseason, there was speculation that Jackson was able to play but he decided not to so that he could avoid injury going into negotiations.

This led to Jackson shutting down that narrative with a tweet that read, “I don’t remember me sitting out on my guys week 1 vs. Jets To week 12 vs. Broncos. How come all of a sudden I sit out because of money in which I could’ve got hurt at anytime within that time frame? When we know the Super Bowl been on my mind since April 2018.”

Jackson’s frustration is understandable, but Sanders just doesn’t want to see the young quarterback get caught up on social media it seems.
