Deion Sanders’s first game leading the Colorado Buffaloes resulted in a major win on Saturday over TCU, and one player that stood out on the field was cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter.
While speaking on FS1’s Undisputed on Monday, Sanders continued to speak extremely highly of the former 2022 No. 1 prospect. In fact, “Coach Prime” views Hunter as the No. 1 draft pick in 2025.
“This kid is a first-rounder on both sides of the ball, like first pick,” Sanders said. “He is the first pick. That’s who he is. Travis is—and he loves the game. He does not tire of loving the game and wanting to be in the game and studying the game and all of the intricate details of the game.”
Before the game, Hunter admitted on his podcast 12 Talks that while the 49ers are his favorite team, that he wouldn’t mind “staying in Colorado,” suggesting that he would be fine playing for the Broncos. Fortunately, he has some time left before his NFL future comes to light.
During Saturday’s 45–42 upset of TCU, Hunter became the first Division I football player in 20 years to total over 100 receiving yards (119) and pull down one interception.
Hunter played 129 snaps on offense and defense combined Saturday, and has already proven more than ready to hold down the title as one of Colorado’s star players.
