Chicago Bulls All-Star DeMar DeRozan became the 50th player in NBA history to score 20,000 career points.
DeRozan scored the 20K-point club clinching bucket with a patented midrange pull-up jumper with 5:43 remaining in the first quarter on Friday against his former team, the San Antonio Spurs.
“It didn’t feel real when it happened. To have that type of moment was definitely unforgettable,” DeRozan said postgame.
Gregg Popovich and the Spurs immediately called timeout to congratulate DeRozan on the milestone as Popovich and his former player shared an embrace.

“Not too many people even get to that point. Some of my favorite players I watched never even got to that point. Just being mentioned in scoring records, top-50 all time, be able to get the respect from one of the greatest coaches of all time, have an honor to play in San Antonio and these fans embrace me the way they did my three years, it’s just crazy how things come full circle,” DeRozan said.
At just 33-years old, DeRozan has a lot more points to add to that total.
