The Defence Forces can’t use its missile system to protect President Joe Biden when he arrives this week – because the radar doesn’t work.
Military bosses had to scrap plans to deploy the multi-million euro RBS 70 air defence apparatus during the four-day visit.
A source said: “There is no point having a state-of-the-art air defence system if there is no radar to work with it – it is pointless.”
