Declan Rice starts for England vs Senegal alongside Liverpool star with Chelsea star missing

Declan Rice will start for England in their World Cup Round of 16 clash on Sunday evening.

The West Ham United captain has been an ever-present for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions and will continue his 100% record out in Qatar against Senegal.

Rice completed 90 minutes in the 6-2 opener against Iran and then again in the 0-0 draw against United States of America. Though he started the final group game against Wales, he was replaced after 58 minutes by Man City's Kalvin Phillips - England won the match 3-0.

Rice has kept his place in a midfield three alongside Liverpool's Jordan Henderson, who gets his first start of the tournament, and Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.

Southgate has opted for Arsenal's Bakayo Saka instead of Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, while City's Phil Foden keeps his place in the starting line-up with Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling missing due to personal reasons.

Should England beat Senegal, who start Chelsea duo Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly, they will meet France in the quarter-finals.
