West Ham United captain Declan Rice will undergo his Arsenal medical on Friday ahead of his £105million transfer to Mikel Arteta's side, according to talksport.
football.london revealed back in January that Arteta had made Rice his priority target for the summer transfer window, with the Spaniard keen to bolster his options in midfield. The Gunners then saw two bids for the England international rejected by the Hammers, who were holding out for a nine-figure transfer fee.
Last week, the two clubs finally agreed on a deal in principle, with the north London outfit paying £100million upfront and an additional £5million in add-ons. But details regarding the structure of the payments still needed to be ironed out before a full agreement was reached on Monday night, according to the Athletic.
Arsenal will pay the deal in three instalments paid over 24 months, with Rice becoming the club's second signing of the summer following the £65million capture of Kai Havertz from Chelsea. Havertz was mainly deployed as a false nine during his time with the Blues but Arteta has since hinted that the German international will be utilised deeper under his tutelage.
Speaking about the 24-year-old to the club's official website, Arteta said: "Kai is a player of top quality. He has great versatility and is an intelligent player.
