Declan Rice left 'sick' by defeat as Liverpool boast 'best in the world'

Your morning Liverpool headlines for Thursday, October 20.

Declan Rice makes Anfield 'sick' claim after Liverpool beat West Ham

Declan Rice has claimed West Ham’s failure to pick up a point against Liverpool has left him feeling 'sick' and believes his side are showing that they can mix it with the 'big boys'.

Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool edged a 1-0 win against the Hammers at Anfield on Wednesday night. The goal came after 22 minutes.

Liverpool find two new attacking options as 'best in the world' now beyond doubt

That was, of course, until VAR urged Stuart Attwell to take another look at Joe Gomez’s challenge on Jarrod Bowen, the referee eventually awarding the visitors a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

Bowen dusted himself down and struck his spot kick well, but Alisson guessed the right way by diving to his right and pushing the ball out. Anfield exploded in a mixture of delight and relief.
