Arsenal have plenty of work to do over the summer after falling short in their Premier League title race with Manchester City. A number of players will leave the club for a new challenge, but it'll be incomings that will shape next season.
Last campaign's second-placed finish and qualification to the Champions League showed signs that Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar are steering the ship in the right direction. Smart moves in the transfer market partnered with world-class man-management has seen the Gunners return to the upper echelons of football in England.
But they aren't expected to stop and this summer has much resting on it. Arsenal are expected to sign a new midfielder, maybe another defender and possibly another option in attack before the Premier League's kick off in August.

The transfer window doesn't open for another two weeks (June 14), yet speculation is continuing to mount around the north London club with lots of players linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
According to Betfair, Arsenal are tipped to sign the following players before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Friday September 1:
Declan Rice 4/6
Moises Caicedo 5/2
Rasmus Hojlund 3/1
James Maddison 4/1
Dusan Vlahovic 9/2
Ilkay Gundogan 5/1
Mason Mount 5/1
Youri Tielemans 5/1
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia 8/1
Declan Rice is Arteta's number one transfer priority, football.london understands. The West Ham star will cost close to £100million and his services are desired by many - including Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Moises Caicedo seems to be the Gunners' alternative to Rice after they failed with two bids for him in January.
Rasmus Hojlund's first season in Italy with Atalanta has attracted an array of interest from around Europe. The Erling Haaland-like striker is only 20 and is already a regular with the Denmark national team - scoring five goals in four appearances.
James Maddison and Mason Mount seem almost certain to leave Leicester City and Chelsea respectively, with them both entering the final 12 months of their contracts in June. The same can be said for Ilkay Gundogan and Youri Tielemans - who will become free agents in June - with both regularly linked with a move to Arsenal.
Napoli sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, like teammate Victor Osimhen, is expected to be at the top of many clubs' shopping lists after their tremendous seasons in Italy. With Arteta's Arsenal well-stocked in the wide positions, the Georgian's signature certainly isn't a priority.
