Defender Declan Gallagher wants to show Scottish football exactly what he’s still capable of.
And the 31-year-old centre back believes Stephen Robinson is the man who can restore him to top form in Paisley.
Gallagher produced his best while under the guidance of Robinson at Motherwell, earning international honours with the Scotland team during two impressive seasons at Fir Park.
After falling out of favour after an indifferent year at struggling Aberdeen last season, he’s determined to prove he’s still got what it takes to shine in the Scottish Premiership with the Saints.
Gallagher told St Mirren TV: “It’s been great so far. I met up with the boys and was chucked right in against Crusaders.
“It’s a great group we’ve got here and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.
“Stephen being here was a big factor for me. He got the best out of my career at Motherwell, helping to get my Scotland caps.
“He was a big factor in me signing here and obviously playing under him, hopefully I can emulate that form I used to have at Motherwell and bring it here to St Mirren.
“Hopefully I can push on this season and show people what I’m all about.”
