Steve Clarke has called up Josh Doig and Declan Gallagher to his squad after Nathan Patterson and David Turnbull pulled out with injury.
Patterson went off for Aaron Hickey in the first half against Ukraine and required a stretcher after picking up an injury. Clarke confirmed after the game that he would have to pull out and Record Sport today reported that he has returned to Everton to assess the issue.
Speaking after the 3-0 win, where John McGinn and Lyndon Dykes downed the Ukrainians to put Scotland in control of the group, Clarke also confirmed Celtic midfielder Turnbull had picked up a knock. And Scotland have tonight announced that St Mirren defender Gallagher and former Hibs left-back Doig, currently starring for Hellas Verona, have been called up instead.
Speaking last night, Clarke said: "We'll go away and have a little chat about (calling players up). David Turnbull will pull out the squad, he picked up an ankle knock at the weekend we thought would clear up.
"It's not going to clear up in time for this so he's better to go back to his club and get ready for their next game. Two players light, I'll probably need to call at least one, maybe two players."
