Former Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi will leave Cardiff City this summer, after just six months in charge of the Championship side.
He joined the Bluebirds on a deal until the end of the season back in January, replacing the outgoing Mark Hudson. In his 18 matches in charge, Cardiff won six, drew two and lost the remaining 10 as they survived relegation by five points.
Lamouchi spent just under 18 months as manager of Forest between July 2019 and October 2020 and was in charge when the club dramatically missed out on the play-offs at the end of the 2019/20 season. He has since managed in Qatar before returning to the UK with Cardiff City.

In a club statement, Cardiff confirmed that they will not be renewing the manager’s contract when it expires in the summer.
“Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Sabri Lamouchi will depart at the conclusion of his current deal,” it read.
“Sabri joined the Bluebirds at the end of January 2023, overseeing 18 fixtures, and winning six matches. Cardiff City would like to thank Sabri for his efforts and contribution in helping us secure our place in the Championship for 2023/24 and wish him all the very best for the future.
“The Board of Directors at Cardiff City FC have already begun the process of appointing a new management team.”
The manager is said to have been open to staying at the club beyond his current deal and underwent discussions with the club’s owner Vincent Tan. It seems that the club decided to go in a different direction.
It means that Cardiff will be searching for their fourth manager in the space of a year. Steve Morison started the season in charge of the club before Mark Hudson took over with the former defender subsequently replaced by Lamouchi.
