Decades old Warmley hair salon closes with cafe set to open in its place

A hair salon in Warmley, which has been a staple of the high street for some 30 years, has closed its doors for good. Signage for MJS Hair & Beauty was recently replaced with a new shop front sign, telling locals that a new cafe will now take the place of the hair salon.

The new signage reads that the cafe will be called 'Frenchies' and it will boast a 'bakery, sandwiches and coffee', though it is not yet known when it will open or whether it will be an eat-in or takeaway service. Residents in the area have mixed feelings about the change along the high street.

Some voiced concerns on social media that the new cafe will be in direct competition with the already established Warmley Bakehouse and the popular Waiting Room cafe along the cycle path. While others expressed concern that there wouldn't be enough parking to cater for an eat-in cafe, especially for any customers coming from outside of the village.
