A spokesperson for British Transport Police said officers were called following reports of a casualty on the tracks at 12.45pm on Monday.

London Ambulance Service crews attended and a person was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The DLR was part suspended between Woolwich Arsenal and West Silvertown following the incident.

The line reopened but at 4.30pm TfL was reporting severe delays between Woolwich Arsenal and Canning Town.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to London City Airport DLR station at around 12.45pm today (9 December) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
