There’s also conflict which we’ll see Dean’s character experience through his feelings for former flame Harriet Finch - played by Katherine Dow Blyton. Dean has spoken of the emotional connection he has to Emmerdale.
He explained: “It feels great to be part of the 50th anniversary. It’s such an iconic show and a big part of my life. I feel very proud. It is incredible and a little bit surreal. My parents really loved it and they’re not here any longer.”
In terms of the wedding scenes and what we can expect, Dean, has offered a little hint. Dean said: “The wedding scenes were great fun. Claire looked amazing on the horse (how her character Kim Tate is due to arrive at the service) in her outfit. It looked spectacular.
“The design team had put together a great set and it all looked beautiful. The horse was immaculate and Claire is a great rider so she looked really cool. And then you put wind machines into the mix…what more could you want!”
We know there are many shocks and surprises planned which may result in viewers saying goodbye to some village favourites. Concluding on what audiences will experience, Dean said: “You can expect all sorts of things from these episodes, everything you could want. Drama, pathos, humour, sadness, anger.”
