Much-loved gameshow Deal Or No Deal is set to to return to our TV screens on ITV – but it is unlikely to be fronted by Noel Edmonds - say reports.
Instead, Stephen Mulhern has been approached by producers and is favourite to host the show, claims The Sun. It says sources told the newspaper there had been "discussions around Noel possibly returning but ITV decided they want to give the show a completely fresh look and feel".
The original show ran for more than a decade, from 2005 to 2016, on Channel 4. However ITV "think there is still a huge appetite" for the show and "think they could make a huge success of the show if they brought it back," said The Sun's sources.
However, the sources said plans for the reboot are still "in the very early stages and the details of when it could come back are being closely guarded". ITV and Stephen Mulhern's representatives declined to comment on the reports when contacted by MailOnline.
Stephen has presented gameshows such as In For A Penny and Catchphrase, and is also part of ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway team. The Sun's sources said he was "over-the-moon" to be approached to bring back the iconic gameshow.
