A deal is said to be close for American businessman Chris Kirchner to takeover Preston North End.
Talks remain ongoing on co-founder and chief executive of software company Slync.io purchasing the Lilywhites from the Hemmings family.
LancsLive reports that there is work to be done still, amid rumours of a done deal this week.
The site reports that there are two main hurdles to overcome in order for it to do so. The initial expectation was early April for the process to be completed, but it is believed that mid-April is more realistic now, should those couple of issues be resolved.
Mr Kirchner posted a picture on social media of his plane landing in Manchester on Monday morning - the 34-year-old has been over to England regularly this year and attended a couple of matches at Deepdale.
He flew back to the States on Wednesday, with talks set to continue. PNE are not in action again until Saturday, 2 April when they go to Derby County - the club Kirchner was linked with purchasing last year.
In the end, he ruled himself out of the running due to problems with the overall price, debts left by the Rams' previous owner and stadium complications. Kirchner, via Twitter, has previously assured that buying PNE is a 'more standard business deal' and a different situation.
