'Deadpool and Wolverine' teaser heats up debate over Blake Lively or Taylor Swift playing Lady Deadpool in Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer: WATCH

The new teaser for the highly anticipated film 'Deadpool and Wolverine', starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in lead roles, has set the internet abuzz with speculation after it featured a look at Lady Deadpool.

The new clip has ignited a heated debate on whether the woman in the red suit is Blake Lively or Pop superstar, Taylor Swift. While the character was first teased in the first trailer that dropped early this year, the new clip that features an almost full-body shot of the character has left fans torn between the casting of the two major stars.

Blake, who is married to Reynolds, has a strong fan base rooting for her to join the franchise. On the other hand, Swifties are equally passionate about seeing the pop superstar in the Marvel universe. The rumours of Swift being a part of the film began doing the rounds when she was spotted with Ryan and director Shawn Levy.

The teaser, which dropped on Wednesday, also offers a glimpse of a new Cowboy Deadpool, making his first appearance. In another first, the new clip also seems to indicate that Deadpool and Wolverine seem to land up in the same timeline, with Wade Wilson, introducing Logan to Blind Al, played by actress Leslie Uggams.

As the anticipation for 'Deadpool and Wolverine' continues to build, the question of who will play Lady Deadpool remains one of the hottest debates online.

The third instalment in the 'Deadpool' movie franchise sees Jackman's Wolverine return from retirement to help wise-cracking Deadpool (Reynolds) save his world. Jackman had not planned to reprise the role of the gruff, clawed X-Man Wolverine. But the Australian actor said his mind started changing after he watched the first "Deadpool" film.

Secrecy surrounds the film's plot details. Respecting the characters and their legacy was at the heart of the writing process, said director and co-writer Shawn Levy.

The only Marvel-Disney movie released this year, 'Deadpool And Wolverine' is expected to be a box office hit when it begins its global cinematic rollout on July 24.
