
Washington, DC, and Wichita, Kansas, have been deeply affected by a tragic plane crash that occurred over the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport. The incident involved an American Airlines passenger jet carrying 64 individuals that had departed from Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita. The plane collided with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter, which had three soldiers on board.
During an emotional news conference held at Wichita's main airport, Mayor Lily Wu expressed her condolences and shared the devastating news that there were no survivors from the crash. Authorities in Washington reported that 28 bodies had been recovered from the crash site.
