At least 23 people have tragically lost their lives in Peru after a devastating bus accident. The incident occurred when a bus plunged over 650 feet into a ravine while en route from Lima to Ayacucho in southern Peru. According to authorities, the accident took place around 5 a.m. local time, and the cause of the tragic event remains unknown.
Search and rescue operations are currently underway, with the country's Interior Ministry confirming that 13 individuals have sustained injuries as a result of the crash. All injured passengers are receiving medical treatment at nearby hospitals.
