Thieves have returned a dead mum's ashes stolen during a raid on her son's flat.

The urn turned up at the back door of Stephen Burgess's home hours after he made an emotional appeal to get them back.

Isobel Calderwood's remains were snatched when her son's property was ransacked after he was evacuated following a fire, the Daily Record reports.
