De Bruyne to return and Lewis to start - Man City predicted line-up vs Wolves

Manchester City have a big chance to put pressure on Arsenal this weekend when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

City returned to winning ways in midweek when they came from 2-0 down to beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium. The victory moved the Blues to within five points of the Gunners.

However, that gap could be even smaller if the Blues can beat Wolves ahead of Mikel Arteta's team's clash with Manchester United. Here is how MEN Sport thinks City will line-up this weekend.

Goalkeeper - Ederson

He may have suffered a wobble against Tottenham but there should be no danger surrounding Ederson's place in the City squad. The Brazilian is still comfortably the first-choice 'keeper at the Etihad and that shall remain the case on Sunday.

Defenders - Rico Lewis, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake

Listening to Pep Guardiola on Thursday, you would think that two members of this defence are guaranteed starters. Both Lewis and Ake received special praise after the victory over Spurs so it is looking likely that both men will start.

More questions will be asked in the centre though. Dias returned from injury this week and it would seem like Sunday afternoon is the perfect chance to reintroduce him into the line-up. The final place is a toss-up between three defenders, we have gone for Stones but it would not be surprising to see Manuel Akanji or Aymeric Laporte take his place.

Midfielders - Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan

Like Ederson, Rodri was not at his best against Spurs but it seems unlikely that he will be dropped for Kalvin Phillips. De Bruyne sat out of the victory over Antonio Conte's men but it would be surprising to see him not feature for two games in a row.

Gundogan would be our choice to partner the Belgian in the centre but it could easily be Bernardo Silva instead.

Forwards - Riyad Mahrez, Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez

Alvarez did well in a more central role on Thursday night but if De Bruyne is to return, the Argentine will have to be pushed out wide. That means no place for Jack Grealish who performed admirably against Spurs however it is impossible to drop either Mahrez or Haaland at the moment.
