Dazzling Djed Spence praised, Tanguy Ndombele scores, Destiny Udogie wins award and happy Winks

It was a week with plenty of success for Tottenham's big group of loan players as they got goals, awards and praise for their performances across the continent.

Spurs have 11 players out on loan at clubs spread across England, France, Italy and Spain and all of them have had differing degrees of success away from Antonio Conte's side this season.

football.london takes a look below at exactly how all of those Tottenham players got on over the course of the past seven days.

Djed Spence and Joe Rodon (Rennes)

It was big weekend for Rennes and Djed Spence as they shocked PSG with a 2-0 win away at the Parc des Princes and the Spurs right wing-back got plenty of praise for his performance.

The 22-year-old played for 78 minutes and helped shut out PSG's attacking stars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Spence completed 31 of his 34 passes, made three recoveries, won eight of his 11 duels against the PSG attack and only committed two fouls.

He also earned a place in L'Equipe's Ligue 1 Team of the Week for his performance against the Parisian outfit.

Get French Football said of his performance: "The Tottenham Hotspur loanee was unstoppable down the right – an all-action performance that saw him win the majority of his defensive duels, as well as offering a constant outlet for his team’s counter-attacks. A technically proficient performance that saw him come close to getting on the scoresheet, replaced in the last ten minutes by club captain Hamari Traore."

The test for Spence now will be keeping his spot with skipper Traore back fit again and expecting to regain his place.

Joe Rodon continued to be an unused substitute for Rennes for the fifth Ligue 1 game in a row as the side have only conceded once in those matches.

Tanguy Ndombele (Napoli)

Tanguy Ndombele got on the scoresheet for Napoli in their 4-0 win at Torino on Sunday in another 25 minute stint from the bench.

The Frenchman tucked away a tidy finish through the goalkeeper's legs for Napoli's final goal of the game. The 26-year-old scored with his only shot on target, had a 100% pass success rate from his 11 passes and made two successful tackles in a bright cameo from the bench.

Ndombele is cruising with Napoli towards a Serie A title winner's medal, with the side sitting 19 points above second-placed Inter and they also have been handed a favourable run on paper from the Champions League quarter-finals.

Destiny Udogie (Udinese)

Destiny Udogie grabbed an assist and an award this week for Udinese. The 20-year-old helped Udinese make sure of their 3-1 home victory against AC Milan by setting up the final goal of the game.

He found space in the box and although his shot was rolling wide, it was tapped home at the back post by Kingsley Ehizibue to secure the victory.

It marked the end of a good day as Udogie was also handed Udinese's player of the month for February award.

Udogie is developing quickly at Udinese and will be hoping to make a big splash when he arrives at Spurs this summer.

Harry Winks (Sampdoria)

Harry Winks finally tasted victory in a Sampdoria shirt in a big relegation scrap of a match against fellow Serie A strugglers Hellas Verona. The 27-year-old midfielder racked up his ninth consecutive 90 minute stint under his belt as Sampdoria won 3-1.

Winks posted on Instagram afterwards: "Not the prettiest game but an important 3 points and great fight from the team." If the comments underneath are anything to go by, the Spurs man appears to have gained the affection of the Sampdoria faithful after overcoming his ankle problem which wiped out the first half of his season.

The win moved financially-struggling Sampdoria off the bottom of Serie A and they cut the gap to now being nine points from safety.

Bryan Gil (Sevilla)

Bryan Gil was an unused substitute in Sevilla's Europa League defeat at Fenerbahce in midweek but he did start on the left and got 55 minutes on Sunday as his team went down 2-0 at Getafe in La Liga.

The blow of the two defeats might have been softened though by the 22-year-old getting the call-up back into the senior Spain squad, where he will join new Tottenham team-mate Pedro Porro, who also earned a recall.

Gil has played 10 times for Sevilla since joining January and has registered one goal and one assist.

Giovani Lo Celso (Villarreal)

Lo Celso continues to increase his minutes after making his comeback from the injury that stopped him participating in Argentina's successful World Cup campaign.

After a couple of minutes here and there, the midfielder got 22 minutes from the bench as Villarreal won 3-0 at Osasuna on Sunday. having got 32 minutes in the 1-0 home defeat to Anderlecht in the Europa Conference League in midweek.

Lo Celso will now be working towards his first start in 2023 in the weeks ahead.

Sergio Reguilon (Atletico Madrid)

Reguilon continues to watch on from the stands following a thigh issue in training. The left-back was initially ruled out for a month with the injury in late February.

Former Spurs man Matt Doherty was an unused substitute as Atletico won 3-0 at home against Valencia on Saturday.

Troy Parrott (Preston North End)

Troy Parrott was brought on at half-time but could not influence proceedings as Preston were heavily beaten 4-0 at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The 21-year-old was handed a six as one of the visitors' better performers in the Lancashire Live player ratings with the review: "Went up top with Cannon and saw one shot deflected over the crossbar after a nice piece of skill. Was busy up top but again, the ball was at the other end of the pitch for large parts.."

The Republic of Ireland international has got plenty of minutes this season around the knee injury he suffered before the World Cup break but the young striker will want to increase his goal output with just two goals from 24 Championship matches.

Dane Scarlett (Portsmouth)

Dane Scarlett is back to struggling for minutes at Portsmouth since the arrival of manager John Mousinho.

The 18-year-old has been an unused substitute in two of the past three matches, having only got five minutes from the bench in the match in between. On Saturday he watched on as Pompey beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 on the road.

Scarlett has scored six goals and registered two assists in 37 games in a season of development at Portsmouth.

Harvey White (Derby)

Harvey White was also an unused substitute as Derby lost 2-0 at home to Fleetwood on Saturday.

The 21-year-old midfielder has made eight appearances for the League One side since arriving in the January transfer window.
