Jeff Ross, the director behind Day Gone, has joined Crystal Dynamics to work on the next Tomb Raider.
During State of Unreal 2022 on Tuesday, Crystal Dynamics made the surprising announcement that another Tomb Raider is in active development. Shortly after, Ross announced his involvement with the project.
“I’m excited to announce I now work at the amazing Crystal Dynamics as Design Director,” Ross said on Twitter. “That’s all I can say other than I’m thrilled with the project, and especially the team of really wonderful people.”
It’ll likely be a long time before we see whatever this new Tomb Raider is, as Crystal Dynamics probably only recently began working on the title after wrapping up development on Marvel’s Avengers — which isn’t exactly a fan-favorite Marvel game.

I will become a Seattleite this summer.

GLHF spoke with Ross last year about Days Gone and the sequel that never came to fruition. Sony Bend, the studio behind Days Gone, is working on another IP at this time, and it’s not looking like there’ll be a follow-up anytime soon, even though the open world zombie title sold pretty well.
