Davinson Sanchez was hooked just 23 minutes after coming on as a substitute himself as Tottenham suffered a humiliating defeat to struggling Bournemouth.
Spurs were a goal up through Son Heung-min 's early strike when Sanchez replaced Clement Lenglet 10 minutes before the break. But things quickly turned to disaster for the hosts and for Sanchez, with Matias Vina equalising just three minutes after the Colombian came on.
Dominic Salanke then put Bournemouth ahead six minutes after the break, before Sanchez was hauled off. The defender had been booed by the home crowd during his time on the pitch, with Spurs bringing him off for Arnaut Danjuma before the hour mark.
At first that appeared an inspired move, with Danjuma equalising two minutes before full-time. But the Cherries ensured it was a miserable day for the hosts as Solanke set up Dango Ouattara to score the winner five minutes into added time.
Interim Spurs boss Cristian Stellini insisted he would support Sanchez, despite his ruthless decision to haul him off. But Stellini was left fuming by his side's defending for Bournemouth's first two goals.
"I understand it's a tough moment for everyone and we have to analyse this moment. Everyone needs to analyse how important it is to support a player. I take every responsibility for the decision I make," the Italian said.

"I thought it was too early in the game to use another striker, so I didn't think that was the time. Then in the second half it was so Davinson came off. It was a tough moment and we will support him. It is a tough moment for him and also the team.
"If the team pushes more when we score the first goal we aren't speaking about a defeat. It's not only Davinson. Every player can help. It is a really tough day today because we didn't achieve what we want. We gave everything on the pitch and I think everyone understands this.
"But we allowed them to score the first two goals too easily. Too easy, too easy. It is difficult then when you are one goal down. You have to be strong in this moment to create a unit and have our fans with us. In the second half we tried to push and we were so close to scoring."
Sanchez endured a difficult day, in what was just his 15th Premier League appearance of the season. The Colombian failed to win a tackle, was dribbled past once and did not win either of his aerial duels.
Tottenham are hoping to secure Champions League qualification, but those hopes suffered a major blow with Saturday's defeat. The day had started so well, with Son sweeping in Ivan Perisic's pullback.
But Vina equalised after a high press allowed the visitors to win the ball back, before Solanke put the Cherries in front with a dinked finish. Danjuma looked to have rescued a point when he fired in from the edge of the box but Ouattara slotted in a late, late winner.
