Bove highlighted that Davidson was referred to McDougal by her brother-in-law, who happened to be a former client of Davidson.
One of the key points of contention was whether McDougal had actually signed the agreement. Davidson stated that he had a fully executed retention agreement with McDougal, indicating that the deal had been formalized.
