David Tennant is celebrating his 52nd birthday as his wife Georgia shared a gushing tribute to her husband.
The Bathgate-born actor, who is due to reprise his role in Doctor Who later this year as the 14th Doctor, was met with floods of fans wishing him a happy birthday. Georgia, 38, met the Scots actor on the set of the BBC sci-fi show where she appeared as a guest to play the Doctor's daughter.
The couple went onto tie the knot in 2011 and have since welcomed four children with the Scots actor. After their marriage, the Harry Potter star formally adopted her eldest child Ty from a different relationship and now he follows in his dad's footsteps as an actor, most recently starring in Game of Thrones spin off, House of the Dragon.
In a sweet post from his wife Georgia, she penned: "This is (apparently) 52. Happy Birthday to the best person most of us will ever know. The kindest of people, the cleverest of people, the funniest of people and the best dad of (many) people.
"Sometimes I wonder what I do to deserve him…but then I remember someone has to handle the social media x"
In honour of Tennant's 52nd birthday, the official Doctor Who social media account has released a brand new image of him back in action as the Time Lord, who he originally portrayed from 2005 until 2010.
Sharing the special photo, the Twitter account wrote: "A new regeneration... with a familiar face? Find out later this year exactly what... what... WHAT is going on!
"Wishing a very happy birthday to the Doctor, David Tennant."
Tennant will reprise his role as the Time Lord for the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary special later this year, before he will regenerate into Scots-Rwandan actor Ncuti Gatwa.
Ncuti, 30, who is best known for his role as Eric Effiong in Sex Education, will take over as the 15th Doctor later this year.
