David Tennant reunited with kids in adorable video posted by wife Georgia

David Tennant has been busy filming for his appearance in the 2023 Doctor Who special - but got a surprise visit from his family during his work week.

The Scottish actor has reprised his role as the Tenth Doctor in a special for the BBC, airing next year. This means he has been missing in action in the Tennant household.

But his family were on hand to give him a heroes welcome, as wife Georgia filmed the reunion between David and his children for social media. Georgia captioned the Instagram story: "Worth it."

In the video, David and Georgia's kids can be seen running into the actors arms, as he embraces the little ones with nothing but love as Georgia filmed a little way off from the reunion.

Earlier this year, Edinburgh Live reported that David Tennant and Catherine Tate will return to Doctor Who to mark the show's 60th anniversary next year. Tennant first stepped into the Tardis in 2005 with his final episode airing on New Year's Day 2010, he did however return for the 50th anniversary.

Tennant, 51, played the 10th Time Lord with comedian Tate, 52, starring as companion Donna Noble. The BBC confirmed the duo have reunited to film scenes that are due to air next year to coincide with the 60th anniversary celebrations of the popular TV series.

Doctor Who’s returning showrunner Russell T Davies said: “They’re back! And it looks impossible – first, we announce a new Doctor, and then an old Doctor, along with the wonderful Donna, what on earth is happening?

“Maybe this is a missing story. Or a parallel world. Or a dream, or a trick, or a flashback. The only thing I can confirm is that it’s going to be spectacular, as two of our greatest stars reunite for the battle of a lifetime.”

A synopsis teasing their Doctor Who return mentioned Donna’s memory wipe to save her life, adding that the Doctor had “left her family with a warning: if ever she remembers, she will die”. It adds: “But with the two coming face to face once more, the big question is, just what brings the Doctor and Donna back together?”.

The Doctor Who special will air on television sometime in 2023. David Tennant will be joined by comedic genius Catherine Tate on set.
