David Nyika To Fight In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia For Charity

Saudi Arabia's Future Investment Initiative conference kicks off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Rising cruiserweight David Nyika is set to showcase his skills in a high-profile bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this Saturday night. The New Zealand fighter recognizes the importance of making a strong impression as he seizes the opportunity to compete on the undercard of the much-anticipated heavyweight title clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Nyika, with a record of 8-0 and 7 knockouts, is not only focused on his performance in the ring but is also dedicated to supporting a charitable cause. He has pledged to donate $10 for every punch landed by both himself and his opponent Michael Seitz, with fans also encouraged to contribute. The funds raised will benefit the Against Malaria Foundation, with over $25,000 already collected to aid those affected by malaria in Uganda, particularly children.

Expressing his commitment to the cause, Nyika emphasizes the significance of giving back and highlights his personal connection to Uganda through his father's heritage. He aims to make a positive impact beyond his boxing career and is collaborating with High Impact Athletes to leverage his platform for charitable endeavors.

As Nyika prepares for his upcoming fight, he acknowledges the opportunity to impress the Saudi audience and potentially secure a spot in the WBO and IBF rankings. Grateful for the support of Tyson Fury's team, Nyika credits his inclusion in the event to his performances during training camps with Fury and Joseph Parker.

Looking ahead, Nyika sees the fight as a pivotal moment in his career, viewing it as a chance to shine on a global stage. Drawing inspiration from fellow athletes in his region, including Parker and Australian fighters, Nyika is determined to continue his ascent in the sport.

Reflecting on his progress and sparring experiences with notable champions, Nyika expresses confidence in his abilities and envisions further growth in the coming months. With a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed, Nyika is poised to make a statement in the cruiserweight division and leave a lasting impact on the boxing world.
