West Ham United manager David Moyes has said captain Declan Rice is the best English midfield player around after his performance in the win over Manchester United.
The 24-year-old Hammers skipper played a starring role for Moyes’ men as they sealed a 1-0 win over Manchester United to move them seven points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone with just three games remaining in their league campaign.
Asked about Rice’s performance amid links with interest from other clubs, such as Arsenal and Chelsea, Moyes said he is not surprised by his performance, but he feels that any club attempting to sign him this summer or in the future will have to splash the cash to land him.

“Again, he was outstanding tonight but I thought we had some really big performers. No surprising me, he has got a great talent of regaining the ball,” said Moyes.
“You’ve seen him play for England, you’ve seen the abilities he uses in recovering the ball and getting around people. He’s great across the ground, very quick. I’m pleased, but not surprised.
“That’s why he is probably the best English midfield player around and that is why he is going to be extremely expensive if anybody comes calling.”
