West Ham United manager David Moyes has backed Manchester City to win the Premier League this season, despite Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table.
Arsenal picked up their 13th league win of the season from just 15 matches on Boxing Day when coming from behind against the Hammers to seal a 3-1 victory over David Moyes’ men.
The Gunners currently sit seven points clear of second-place Newcastle United, with a game in hand over the Magpies and eight clear of Man City in third. However, City could close that gap to five points when they head to Leeds United on Wednesday evening.

Despite Arsenal picking up 40 out of a possible 45 points in the league so far this season, Moyes, who managed Gunners boss Mikel Arteta at Everton, thinks that while he thinks his former midfielder will go on to win a Premier League title as a manager, he cannot see it happening this season, instead tipping City to successfully defend their crown.
“I think Mikel might go on to be one. Do I think they’re going to win it this year? I’m not sure,” said Moyes.
“I think you’d be remiss if you don’t think of Man City. You’d be doing them down. They’ve got a fantastic team and there’ll be other teams that are a bit more used to being around the top, maybe a [team like] Liverpool later on.
“Not to say that Mikel isn’t building a side capable but I think he’ll know that Man City will be the ones. They’ll come here and they’ll keep the ball off Arsenal.
“Arsenal kept the ball off us tonight, Man City will come here and keep the ball off Arsenal and it’ll become a different type of game for them.”
