David Moyes issues blunt response to Declan Rice question amid Manchester United interest

West Ham boss David Moyes has remained firm in his stance surrounding the future of Declan Rice amid Manchester United interest.

The 23-year-old England international has been a United target for some time and the club remain long-term admirers but ahead of Erik ten Hag's arrival, the Manchester Evening News has reported that the club are working on separate moves for Frenkie de Jong and Kalvin Phillips.

Recent reports have suggested that the West Ham midfielder has turned down a lucrative contract at the London Stadium, which would see him sign an eight-year extension in east London. He has also been linked with a return to Chelsea — the team that released him as a youngster.

Moyes in the past has suggested West Ham value Rice in the region of £150million as he again discussed the midfielder's future. The Hammers take on Manchester City at the London Stadium on Sunday.

"We've got him here at the moment and we will take a year at a time and see how it goes," the Scot said in his pre-match press conference. "Not at all, no," he added when asked if the club were concerned about summer interest.

It isn't the first time Moyes has been blunt in his admission over the star midfielder. He has regularly batted away questions about Rice's future.
