West Ham United manager David Moyes has confirmed that defender Thilo Kehrer will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea through injury.
The Hammers’ German international defender started in the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United last weekend but was forced at half-time through injury.
It now means that Kehrer will miss the London derby against the Blues, with striker Gianluca Scamacca (knee), winger Maxwel Cornet (calf), centre-back Kurt Zouma (thigh), goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (hamstring) also set to miss out once again.

“Probably much the way we were at the weekend,” said Moyes. “Thilo [Kehrer] is a problem, Thilo came off with an injury, so that’s the main one.
“After that, I don’t think we’ve got any more boys back from what we had last week.”
Due to the number of issues with injuries in recent weeks, a number of academy players have been spotted in first-team training ahead of Saturday’s game against the Blues. Centre-backs Kaelan Casey and Levi Laing, striker Divin Mubama, midfielders Freddie Potts, Kamarai Swyer and Keenan Appiah-Forson and goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi have all been training with the first-team squad this season.
