David Moyes has revealed the thinking behind his tactical shift against Wolves as West Ham saw out a tight 1-0 win over their European rivals.
The Hammers switched systems against Bruno Lage's side and went with a 3-5-2 after originally setting up in a 4-2-3-1. Moyes has preferred a system with a four-man backline this season but decided to switch to three centre-backs in order to match up with the way Wolves play.
The changes Moyes made saw Aaron Cresswell tuck inside to join Kurt Zouma and Craig Dawson in central defence, with Pablo Fornals dropping to an unusual role of wing-back.
