Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour may have left Hawkins behind, but the actors will soon reunite on set of a new Netflix series, playing, you guessed it, a father and daughter duo. And if you’re thinking ‘wait… weren’t these two beefing?’, you’re certainly correct.
Prior to filming the final season of Stranger Things, Brown reportedly accused Harbour of harassment before filming, and the two mysteriously pulled out of carpet appearances they were supposed to do together. Well, you can finally stop questioning whether or not the rumours were true, because Harbour has spoken out.
In an interview with Variety, Harbour said the two Emmy-nominated actors share “a special bond”.
“I love her. She loves me,” he said.
He continued: “In families, it’s OK because you’re just in a disagreement and then you come back together. The problem with a billion-dollar show is that there’s just hundreds of people who want to get involved.”
“It was just a simple rupture-and-repair thing that, once we cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other, we’re fine.”
While Brown hasn’t explicitly spoken out about the drama with her co-star, she did mention wanting to “mend” unresolved tensions during a live recording of the “Happy Sad Confused”, hosted by Josh Horowitz. She said she spent the January after Stranger Things had wrapped reconnecting with her castmates.
“I was like, ‘I’m sorry if I ever upset you,’ and was just trying to mend anything. ‘It’s been 10 years, and I really want to be friends.’,” she said.
After the announcement came that Habrour and Brown would be reunited on the set of Netflix’s new spy thriller, fans instantly took to X to voice their confusion, theories and opinions surrounding the pair’s relationship and beef status.

What we know about Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour’s new Netflix series.
The two Emmy-nominated actors, who co-starred in the five season-long Netflix behemoth Stranger Things as Eleven and Hopper, the adopted supernatural daughter and sheriff father, are set to bring the on-screen chemistry we came to love them for to a brand-new project. Instead of supernatural forces, this time around, they’re working on a spy drama.
While details are still largely under wraps — including the series’ title — what we do know is that the A24 series received a straight-to-series order at Netflix. It follows disgraced FBI agent-turned-security-expert Matt Wolfe (David Harbour), who finds himself drawn back into the life he left behind when his estranged daughter, FBI agent Rebecca (Brown), goes missing while out on a mission. The FBI world has moved on from his time, and Wolfe has to learn to adapt if he wants to get his daughter back.
The spy thriller series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-winning writer Jack Thorne, who has also worked on series and films including Adolescence, Lord of the Flies and Wonder. On top of this, Thorne wrote Netflix’s mystery adventure films, Enola Holmes, which Brown stars in. Brown and Harbour will also double as executive producers alongside Thorne. Between the three of them, it’s Emmy noms and wins all round.
“We are delighted to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with before,” Netflix head of scripted series, US and Canada, Jinny Howe said.
“Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite — this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis — is something audiences are going to love. A24 is the perfect partner to bring this story to our members around the world.”
Well, we’re sure glad Harbour and Brown seem to have resolved any difference they had during Stranger Things, because we’re itching to see them on screen together again after leaving Hawkins-sized hole in our hearts.
