David Dickinson claims tan isn't fake as he shares secret to becoming bronzed

Bargain Hunt's David Dickinson is known for his distinctive bronzed look.

The 80-year-old is always glowing when he appears on the BBC One show and he is one of the UK's most recognised TV personalities. Most people would more than likely notice him for his dazzling tan.

The tan is often thought to be fake, and David joked television presenter Jonathan Ross calls him the "orange man". But the presenter insists his tan is actually real and says it is down to his loyal relationship with the sun, a lot of holidays, and his Armenian descent.

Speaking to The Mirror, David explained how he got his glistening and tanned skin. He said: "I’ve got olive skin from my Armenian heritage, and my real secret is getting as many holidays in as I can."

His wife Lorne Lesley - who he married in 1968 - gave an insight into the television presenter's skin and his dedication to the sun. She said: “He’s an absolute sun worshipper. I wheel him out in the morning, and he just lies here…"

Back in 2009, he told Mail Online his secret is to just go on holiday. He said: "I don't go on sun beds, and I've never used a spray tan - I just go on holiday. I work hard so when I have time off, I treat myself and my wife to a wonderful hotel."
