David de Gea has revealed Ralf Rangnick informed Manchester United to press higher at half-time on Tuesday night.
United beat Brighton 2-0 at Old Trafford to move up to fourth in the Premier League, but the game wasn't straightforward.
Graham Potter's side went toe-to-toe with United in the first half of the match and caused United problems, however, it was the Reds that would score the game's opening goal after the interval when Cristiano Ronaldo found the back of the net.
Lewis Dunk received a red card shortly after that goal and Bruno Fernandes' goal in stoppage time secured the three points.
Although Brighton went down to 10-men, United looked better in the second and De Gea revealed after the game that interim boss Rangnick told his players in the dressing room at half-time to press higher up the pitch.
"The message [at half-time] was that we are playing at home and we pressed high in the second half," De Gea told BBC Sport.
"We controlled the game after the red card and there was a five minute spell when they came back.
"We should be fighting for more things than the top four, but that is the reality. There are many teams fighting for the same position and with the quality we have we should win a lot of points."
United play Leeds next at Elland Road on Sunday, 20 February.
