Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has responded to the angry comments made by Dean Henderson over the summer.
Henderson, who is on loan at Nottingham Forest from Man United for the season, said in an interview that he was "fuming" with his parent club for going back on their word about making him their first-choice goalkeeper. He also hit out at his lack of game-time at Old Trafford and explained that he pushed through a move to Forest before Erik ten Hag walked through the door at United.
In the summer of 2021, Henderson says he was told he would be the first choice between the sticks at United, displacing long-serving goalkeeper de Gea. That did not come to fruition for Henderson, who is chasing a place in the England squad for the Qatar World Cup in November and December.

He has made a solid start to life at Forest, saving two penalties in the Premier League so far, but caused a stir among Man United supporters with his post-transfer comments. Despite irking some, his United rival de Gea refused to be drawn on the remarks when asked about them today.
"I have to do my job, to try to be better every day," de Gea told Manchester Evening News. "I don’t think it’s the time to talk about our team and what happened last season, we should be more focused on the season now. I have no comments about that."
