For anyone to beat a team 7-0 you’ve got to play well.
You’re not gifted seven goals, our finishing was top drawer, we had eight shots on goal and we weren’t sloppy - every time the forwards got a chance, they hit the target.
It was finishing of the highest order. Normally David de Gea comes to Anfield and pulls efforts out of the top corner - he couldn’t get near anything.
They were really good finishes, you can’t undermine a performance like that. We know the hatred between the two fans and the competitiveness between the two clubs, to get smashed 7-0 after being smashed 9-0 in two games last season, it’ll hurt.

As bad as they were, we were good. It was 1-0 at half-time, we just ground them down.
They’ve been beaten 6-3 by Manchester City, 7-0 by Liverpool and 4-0 by Brentford, there’s no mentality monsters there. It’s come back to haunt them, what they were before he arrived at Manchester United.
They’ll regroup, they’ll spend big in the summer, but that showed that there isn’t a big difference between the two teams.
We can come again but the main thing is the owners have to back the manager in the summer. We need to get that fourth spot and that’s the most important thing because we can get the players we need to rebuild and go again.
The battle for top four is now back in Liverpool's hands
It’s back in our hands now, fourth is no longer out of our hands. We’ve got Tottenham at home, our goal difference has got better, Spurs have only got big games now but we don’t need to rely on other teams dropping points.
I said we needed to go on a run a couple of months ago, now we’ve gone five games in the league with as many clean sheets, we’ve got 13 points. You have to hope to maybe lose the odd game, draw a couple and win the rest then we’ll get fourth place.
We’re more than capable of doing that, that’s hopefully restored the belief in the players and the team. Then we’ll see a different Liverpool team and we will because the strikers are fit - we have to keep them fit.
You don’t win easily at Bournemouth. The players will have one or two days off and come back, the dressing room will be buzzing - we've just beat our greatest rivals and given them their biggest defeat for nearly 100 years.
There will be a buzz around the place, they’ve got to take that into Bournemouth.
They did really well against Arsenal, they were unfortunate against them so they’re no mugs.
You’ve got to go there and put in a professional performance, get three points and that’s the way it has to be until the end of the season. It’s an early kick-off so if we get the three points, it can put a bit of pressure on the teams in and around fourth.
