Former UK PM David Cameron has arrived in Poland with aid for Ukrainian refugees - after driving over 1,000 miles across Europe. The ex-Tory leader partnered up with local charity Chippy Larder, which usually helps low income families with surplus food from supermarkets, to make the trek.
Cameron has been volunteering at the charity in Chipping Norton for the past two years, and decided to booster their campaign of transporting essential donations over to Ukraine. The charity received enough donations for fleeing Ukrainian refugees "to fill a small lorry" - with everything from nappies to sanitary products, warm clothes and first aid kits.
Posting a picture of himself at the wheel of the lorry on Friday, Cameron said: "It is going to be a long drive, but I'll keep you updated along the way #StandWithUkraine." After over 20 hours of driving, and a flat tyre along the way, he has finally arrived with the donations at the Red Cross depot on the Polish border. He shared an update with his Titter followers today informing them of his safe arrival, and reinforcing Johnson's message that Putin will fail in his attempt to invade Ukraine.
