David Beckham 'so proud' of son Romeo scoring 25-yard free-kick for Inter Miami

David Beckham was buzzing after seeing his son, Romeo, net a 25-yard free-kick for his MLS franchise, Inter Miami II.

The former England captain was bursting with pride after seeing his 19-year-old son's stunning first Inter Miami goal with his trademark free-kick. Over his legendary football career, David, 47, became known for the move so it seems his talent has rubbed off on son Romeo, writes the Mirror.

Beaming after his son's impressive goal, he shared a video of his son's strike to his Instagram account with the message: "Well done mate so proud. First goal in a MIAMI shirt.” Romeo replied “Love u dad that was for you.” Beckham has already shared a number of touching messages about his son ever since Romeo signed his first professional deal with his father's MLS franchise last September.

The 19-year-old - who also plays on the right-wing - is in the ranks alongside Phil Neville's son Harvey, who plays in defence. Neville is the head coach of Inter Miami's senior team, who are struggling in the Eastern Conference this year. Miami are currently in 10th spot having won just six of their 18 games so far this term.

Although Miami are struggling in the MLS, Romeo is impressing in the MLS Next Pro league. The teenager has racked up seven assists in 14 appearances and made headlines earlier in the season after he grabbed a hat-trick of assists in one match.

But it still remains to be seen if Romeo - who spent time on Arsenal's books as a youngster - has what it takes to step to the senior ranks and make an impact in the MLS.

Despite playing for his father's team, Romeo is unlikely to get an easy ride in Miami with Neville bossing him. And the Inter Miami chief - who came through the ranks with Beckham at Manchester United as a youngster - revealed earlier this year that Beckham has insisted that Neville has to be harder on Romeo "than anyone else".

Neville told The Sun : “I think the first thing that David said to me was, 'You have got to be harder on him than anyone else'. He has got to work harder than anyone else to get into that team because there will be questions, there will be expectations on his shoulders.”
