David Beckham 'gutted' by damage caused by Storm Henk at family's Cotswolds home

David Beckham has said he is “gutted” after Storm Henk’s strong winds wreaked havoc at his Cotswolds home.

The football star shared pictures with his followers on Instagram of a fallen tree on the grounds of his home after heavy winds.

Alongside a sad face, he wrote: “Could have been worse, still gutted.”

David, 48, and wife Victoria, 49, who share four children, Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 11, bought the country home for a reported £6.15 million in December 2016.

The luxurious property boasts a sauna, football pitch, gym, swimming pool and £50,000 barbecue tent in the grounds for entertaining.

Winds of up to 90mph battered the UK on Wednesday amid Storm Henk, with a motorist killed by a falling tree in the Isle of Wight, and a woman injured by a falling tree in Orpington, south London.

Other fallen trees damaged properties and blocked roads across the country.

Earlier this week, the 48-year-old shared snaps of New Year celebrations with Victoria, with the former footballer making a gag about his wife’s “working-class” roots.

The duo enjoyed a lavish lunch at The Ritz with Victoria’s parents Jackie and Anthony Adams.

The couple shared a string of photos from the outing, showing Victoria in a royal blue dress and David in a dark suit and blue tie.

Victoria wrote: “Creating memories this NY Eve x family time really is everything x I love you all so much.”

David used the opportunity to poke fun at his wife, writing: “Just a nice casual New Year’s Eve lunch at The Ritz. @victoriabeckham Very working class 😂 My mother & father in law left in there Roll’s.”

The gag is a reference to the Beckham Netflix documentary, in which Victoria says she grew up “working class”.

David interjects to tell her to “be honest”, prompting her to reveal that her father drove a Rolls Royce when she was at school.

Last week it was revealed the couple have raked in more than £130 million in yearly sales across their consumer, media and fashion empires amid the success of the Netflix series.
