David Beckham was seen knocking back a glass of red wine at the Scotland vs Brazil World Cup game hours after his estranged son Brooklyn appeared to shade him.
The football legend, 51, was joined in a VIP box by his son Cruz, 21, and his Brazilian girlfriend Jackie Apostel, who was cheering on her country on Wednesday.
David was pictured taking a long glug from his glass, which some amused fans likened to a “fishbowl”, as they waited for the game to begin.
The trio were joined by fellow footballing icon Phil Neville as well as David's good friend Dave Gardner and his girlfriend.
David looked smart in a beige blazer with a beige sweater underneath, while Cruz went casual in a white T-shirt and jeans, with Jackie wearing a jacket in Brazil's colours from Cruz's brother Romeo's clothing brand, Intra.
After spotting David in the BBC’s coverage of the game, one fan joked on social media: “David Beckham with a fishbowl of red wine.”
Another added: “Did everyone see David Beckham take the biggest swig of red wine from the biggest glass ever?”
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C match was held at Miami Stadium, Florida - where Brooklyn was celebrating his father-in-law Nelson Peltz's 84th birthday.
Nicola shared photos of the couple and her family wearing matching cowboy hats as they marked the big day with a meal at their family home on Wednesday.
Nicola and Brooklyn gathered around Nelson in one group photo, which also featured Nelson’s five sons Zach, Diesel, Will, Bradley and Greg.
The family photos were likely a blow to Brooklyn’s estranged family, to whom he hasn’t spoken for more than a year.
He has not publicly acknowledged any of his parents birthdays or milestones since their rift began.
The budding chef is reportedly “furious” with his parents David and Victoria following their social media posts on Father’s Day last weekend.
Both stars shared photos of Brooklyn on Instagram while marking the milestone day on Sunday - despite Brooklyn’s reported requests not to tag him on social media and only contact him through his lawyer.
Sources claimed the 27-year-old is “fuming” with his family over the gesture and just “wants to be left alone”.
Victoria reached out to her estranged son by sharing a photo of him with the rest of her children, writing: “David you truly are the best daddy.
“Your greatest achievement has always been our beautiful children and we love you so much. Happy Father’s Day.”
David, 51, posted a childhood snap of Brooklyn and added: “Being a dad is my most important job… I love you all & thank you mummy @victoriabeckham for giving me our beautiful family.”
While Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, shared tributes to the football legend for Father’s Day, Brooklyn stayed quiet on social media for the second year in a row amid their ongoing rift.
He has blocked his entire family online but he is believe understood to have seen the posts from his parents through media reports and those closest to him.
He reportedly told his parents last summer to only contact him through his lawyer and did not want to be involved in public posts, preferring to make amends “privately”.
In January Brooklyn issued a blistering, multi-page statement to say he was cutting off his family.
He accused his “controlling” parents of trying to “ruin” his marriage to Peltz, 31, and being all about the public narrative and “Brand Beckham”.
Brooklyn claimed relations became strained around the time of his 2022 wedding to Peltz.
He accused Victoria of pulling out of making Peltz’s wedding dress at the last minute and dancing “inappropriately on him” at the wedding.
He also criticised his father David, claiming that despite travelling to the UK for David’s 50th birthday, repeated requests to meet beforehand were ignored.
Earlier this month, Brooklyn appeared to mock his family feud in a DoorDash commercial.
He said in the commercial: “You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home.
“It’s not like I don’t have tickets. Um… it’s because… it’s a long story.”
His remarks were branded “distasteful” by his fans, with some claiming he was “cashing in” on his father’s work.
Sources claimed his parents were “inconsolable” over the campaign with the US food delivery company and “shocked” that he would treat their rift as a “joke”.
