The women, whose names have been changed in the original article for privacy reasons, claimed that they met up with Portnoy for consensual sex but the encounter turned violent and even ‘humiliating.’ Two of the women said Portnoy both choked and filmed them without permission, per the report.
One of the women, who goes by the pseudonym ‘Madison’ in the article, described feeling like "a human sex doll."
After the alleged aggressive sexual encounter, Madison shared that she slept on Portnoy's couch for two nights because her flight home wasn't for another two days, though they did not have sex again.
Days later, the same woman texted her friend about her experience with Portnoy.
“It was so rough I felt like I was being raped he video taped me and spit in my mouth and choked me so hard I couldn't breathe,’ Madison said in screenshotted messages shared on Insider.
She added, “And it hurt and I was literally screaming in pain.”
According to Insider, Madison told the outlet that she kept trying “to get away and he was like, ‘Stop running away from me. Stop running away from me.'”
In his two-part Twitter video response, Portnoy admitted to having sex with Madison and explained his version of the story, saying: “at no point was it not 100% consensual. At no point did she ask me to stop. It was totally normal fine.”
He went on to credit cancel culture as a reason for why the Insider article was written.
Referring to the article as a ‘hit piece’ throughout the video he said, “Cancel culture has been coming for me for a decade. This is just the next iteration.”
Shares of Penn National Gaming’s Portnoy’s stock fell by more than 20% at one point in the wake of the article being published.
