Dave Kearney faces another wait on sidelines after hamstring injury may have ended his season

Dave Kearney has suffered another injury setback and could miss the remainder of the season for Leinster.

The experienced winger had a hamstring operation last week and will, according to the province, be unavailable for a number of months.

Kearney, 32, only returned to action in February after nine months away with ankle and back issues.

Meanwhile, Leo Cullen could be without Ross Byrne for Saturday's re-arranged URC clash with Munster at Thomond Park (7pm).

The out-half was withdrawn for a HIA in the first half over Leinster's 45-8 victory over Connacht in Galway last weekend.

He passed the head injury assessment but a dental injury ended his involvement in the game and he will be further examined in the coming days before a decision is made on his involvement in Limerick.

Conor O'Brien could return to the squad for the encounter as he has returned to full training following a hamstring injury, while Ciarán Frawley, who was returning from injury against Connacht, came through unscathed.

There are no further updates on Andrew Porter (ankle), Jordan Larmour (hip), Will Connors (knee), James Ryan (concussion), Ryan Baird (back), Rónan Kelleher (shoulder) and Michael Milne (calf).
