According to Deadline, Afterburn is set in a world devastated by a solar flare a decade prior. Technology has been wiped out, leaving Bautista's character, an ex-soldier-turned-treasure-hunter, with the task of recovering the Mona Lisa, one of the few remaining valuable artifacts. His mission takes a thrilling turn as he joins forces with a freedom fighter named Drea, played by Samuel L. Jackson, to retrieve the iconic painting before a dangerous warlord gets to it first.
