Daughter sells dad's Glasgow flat and steals £13k after he's diagnosed with dementia

A woman has been jailed after embezzling thousands of pounds from her dementia suffering father.

Catriona Anne Fitzsimmons was brought to justice after stealing £13,212 from Neil MacKinnon after being granted power of attorney over his affairs and selling his Glasgow flat.

The 61-year-old moved him from the city to the Isle of Lewis after he displayed signs of the condition following the death of his wife. When he deteriorated Fitsimmons moved him into a care home in Stornoway, the Sunday Mail reports.
