Gardai probing the unsolved murder of Antoinette Smith are re-interviewing people of interest, her daughter has revealed.
Lisa Smith, 42, met with investigating officers at Bray Garda station on Friday and said she was given fresh hope her mother’s killer will be caught.
Antoinette, or Angie as she was known, was last seen at 2.30am on O’Connell Street in Dublin on July 11, 1987.
Antoinette Smith: Gardai renew appeal for help to solve 1987 murder of Clondalkin mum-of-two
The mother-of-two, right, from Clondalkin had been with pals on a night out after a David Bowie concert at Slane Castle.
The 27-year-old’s body was found dumped in an isolated drain at Glendoo Mountain, outside Enniskerry in Co Wicklow, almost a year later on April 3, 1988. Lisa, who was just seven when her mother was killed, believes someone initially interviewed about the disappearance may hold the key to solving the case. She told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “The meeting with the guards was very positive. They are re-interviewing people which is good, it might trigger something overlooked at the time.
“I always say no matter how small or insignificant someone thinks a piece of information is, it could be just what is needed to solve this.”
