A mother has been ordered to stay away from the family home after allegedly assaulting her 12-year-old daughter, causing minor injuries.
The 32-year-old, who has not been named to protect the identity of the child, faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, August 10, when her application for bail was not opposed.
She is yet to enter pleas to two counts of aggravated common assault.
Police allege the woman assaulted her 12-year-old daughter between August 5 and 6.
The alleged assaults were reported to police and the mother was arrested on Sunday afternoon.
On Monday, the woman was released on bail subject to strict conditions, including that she not contact her daughter.
Special magistrate Lucinda Wilson told the woman her daughter had been "feeling scared" at the thought of her returning home, and the prosecution would have opposed bail if she stayed there.
However, Ms Wilson said bail was not opposed because the mother agreed not to remain at the house.
The 32-year-old's case will return to court in October.
