Dating app Tinder opens pop-up pubs to help single dog owners looking for love

Dating app Tinder is launching its own pop-up pub experience to celebrate dogs being the ultimate aid to charm a potential partner. A study has confirmed members who feature their beloved pooch in profile images get their paws on five per cent more matches.

So it’s no surprise that 29 per cent of people admit that they’ve added a picture with a dog to their dating profile to improve chances of success. A huge 91 per cent have revealed it’s a deal-breaker if their dog doesn’t like someone, so Tinder is opening The Bark & Spark pop-up venue to host first dates.

It is inviting dog lovers to enjoy a first date on Tinder on May 14 and 15 at participating venues. They will cater to all dogs’ needs whilst pet owners enjoy their date. Venues are:

The Dog House, Kennington

293 Kennington Road, Lambeth, London, SE11 6BY

Opening times: From 12pm - 1am Saturday and 12pm - 11pm Sunday

The Dog and Partridge, Manchester

665 Wilmslow Road M20 6RA Manchester

Opening times: Saturday May 14 to Sunday May 15 (12pm-12am)

Hare of the Dog, Edinburgh

97-99 Broughton Road EH7 4EG Edinburgh

Social: Saturday and Sunday May 14-15 (2pm - 1am)

Before then, those looking for love should head to the ‘Animal Parent’ tile in Tinder's Explore option to dog owners looking for a match. Laura Wilkinson-Rea, Tinder's senior director of communications UK, said: “It’s clear that dogs are loved by Tinder members with 10 per cent of our members including ‘dog lover’ as one of their Interests on their profile.

"That’s why we’re so excited to be bringing together dog lovers and their dates by launching our first pop-up pub experience. Answering singletons calls for shared experiences and providing a low-pressure way to make real world connections, it really is a win for all.”

Tinder is making a donation to leading animal welfare charity Battersea to support its work they do helping dogs and cats in need.
